The funny thing is last year when i bought my 13 Pro Max i was like meh, always had the latest flagships every year and a big bulky case and never ever broke any of them.
6 days after purchase i had taken my phone out of the case to clean it and accidentally dropped on tiles.. My heart skipped many beats and the screen was smashed.
This year i have taken the Applecare+ monthly and i can now rest safely knowing it won’t cost me an arm if that ever happens again.
Last time I bought XS Max, didnt get apple care, but i dropped my phone one month after, replaced the screen costed a fortune, so this time I will go for it! And now they said can get a battery free replacement if it dropped below 80%
What about Water damage?
Wait what’s Apple Care vs your own phone 📱 carrier’s insurance? $17 a month Verizon, $29 battery replacement🪫 💭🤷🏻♂️

PSA: If you are like me and get a new iPhone/iPad every year, and use AppleCare, it's good to know that you can cancel AppleCare and get a prorated refund at any time.
9.99 is an option for apple care but if you pay for two years up front and end up updating before then, Apple will refund the rest of the amount owed before 2nd year hits! The other benefit of paying upfront for two years is that it ups your resale value of your phone! That apple care can be transferred to the new user (can be extended) while the monthly does not! Last thing I’d like to mention is that people want to prevent any scratches or dings on their phone which they cannot get replaced thru AppleCare! So a person buying your phone might be thrown off when they see the condition of the phone!
I got the 14 pro max..no apple care. You know why? Cuz that’s top G. If you get AppleCare you’re a peanut. If you break it buy a new one. Don’t be a panzi and Insure your phone. Peanut 🥜

are you able to extend apple care after 24 months? So for example, i buy an iphone 14 pro and get 24 months of applecare+, after the 24 months am i able to renew it for another 24 months? so 4 years in total

I always buy an otterbox case for my iphones. Otterbox Defender. And a screen protector.
So, that's the one I have for my current 14 Pro Max. I got me the 1TB version because i wanted a lot of memory to last me a long time without needing to upgrade.
My prior phone was the 12 Pro Max 128gb and same thing; I had the Ottberbox Defender & screen protector.
During the 2yrs or so with my 12, it literally only cracked the screen protector just once. But i never replaced it since it was just the screen protector lol
Mind you with some of the work I do , my phone can drop from High places like a ladder or scaffold, or slips from my pockets or kinda toss it on tables lol
a bad habit of mines (not clumsy tho lol)
but that case protected it so well.
Even my old iPhone 8, same thing otterbox and screen protector and that one never cracked or anything.
So, with the 14, I'm thinking of getting AppleCare+, mainly to have it for a battery replacement ? Worth it?
my 12 pro max was getting annoying since i had to be charging it 2x a day, and my whole World like revolves being on my phone always. Plus it ran out of memory too
But would applecare+ be worth it for battery? the damages and unlimited repairs doesn't really wow me given my case that i use (i'm the paranoid guy who never wants to use slim cases despite how much more you can appreciate the beautiful iPhone lol) Seems you still have to pay for the battery anyways with applecare+, so idk?

imo, you only get insurance for things you can't afford to replace;,not when they are just expensive to replace, but you don't have and won't have the money to replace. And if you don't have $700 saving in ur bank account then….. idk lol

Thank you for this video, I have just left the apple store and was asking about the apple care + for my iPhone 14 Pro Max and yes definitely it is an expensive phone especially in Europe (1599€). At one point I was not thinking of getting the Apple Care + but after seeing this video and seeing how much it would cost to repair it I am shocked! I am definitely getting the insurance, though I never had any issues with my iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Yeah that’s all wonderful. But what’s the excess cost per claim?
If you use a case and a good screen protector. Don’t waste your money on AppleCare.
Always get apple Care plus never did before but once I got the iPhone X needed it for the first time and had it now ever since up to the 14 pro…and is well worth it. The amount of the repair is less than a Apple case itself buy it!
If you upgrade your phone before you’ve utilized the full 2 years of AppleCare, then you can call apple customer service and they will refund you the prorated amount of unused coverage.

Alternatively: spend $60 on a decently protective case and screen protector if you are an average person and only ever drop your phone from around chest height or lower. Rather that than pay $200 over 2 years for the privilege of getting $30 repairs if I crack my phone. NOT getting applecare+ seems like the no brainer

Decided to downsize this year and got the Space Black 14 Pro but I run the Rhinoshield Crashguard NX and have been considering the apple care this year for the first time just since the case leaves the back glass exposed but can’t decide yet. Any opinions or suggestions on getting it or not with my case setup?
Upgrading from an iPhone 7 to the 14 pro, I’ve never broken my iPhone 7 so for me I don’t require the insurance

14 Pro Max 256GB Deep Purple. Got a 36 month carrier deal here in Sweden: $60-ish (60Euros) per month including unlimited data. I'm getting Apple Care+ if, cause I've changed phones more than once every year due to phone pitching. And not as in idea pitching, more like baseball pitching.
Never had apple care+ over the last 10 years. Never dropped my phone. Even if i dropped it or spoil for the phone this once. I would still be able to afford the repair or buy 3 or 4 new iphone with the money i have saved over the years from not buying applecare.
Definitely agree. AppleCare+ on expensive products like iPhone and Mac should be a no-brained because the repair costs are PRICY
I just preordered 2 iPhone 14 pro max pretty excited to hold that sucker in my hands. I’m jumping from an old iPhone hehe it’s actually the 7 plus. Yeap you read that right. I’m okay with big cases and that’s why we didn’t get the insurance but we’re also not 100% if we will decline it once we get them. Maybe I’ll end up getting the apple care.
